MIRAMICHI – The Miramichi Rivermen needed three goals in the final period to edge the Kensington 4-3 in NB/PEI Major Midget Hockey League action, Saturday night.
The Wild’s Michael Evoy opened the scoring in the first period with an unassisted goal.
Colton Chiasson gave the Kensington team a 2-0 lead with an unassisted goal in the second period.
The Rivermen cut the lead in half with an unassisted goal from Yan Plourde but Kensington regained the two-goal lead when Cole Hackett scored on a power play off an assist from Sam Jay.
The final period belonged to the Rivermen, scoring three unanswered goals. Riley Scott accounted for two goals on assists from Yan Plourde and Pierre-Luc Lurette and Daniel Gallant scored the winner off assists from Alec Beaulieu and Eddie Banville.
