In major midget hockey action over the weekend
CHARLOTTETOWN – It was a successful weekend trip to P.E.I. for the Miramichi Rivermen.
New Brunswick/P.E.I. Major Midget Hockey League
The Rivermen swept all three games they played on Island soil over a three-day period, including a 3-2 win over the Charlottetown Islanders on Friday night, a 2-1 victory against the Kensington Monaghan Farms Wild on Saturday evening and a 3-1 win back in Charlottetown on Sunday afternoon.
Eddie Banville, Riley Scott and Alex Beaulieu scored for the Rivermen in the weekend finale. Alex Gallant, assisted by Jonathan Larter, answered for the Islanders. All of the game’s scoring took place in the second period.
Daniel Vautour earned the goaltending win over Daryl MacCallum.
The Rivermen improved their league-leading record to 5-0-1 (won-lost-overtime losses) while the Islanders dropped to 0-3-1.
