Mark Corney, manager of the Clyde River Golf and Country Club, and Autism Society of P.E.I. executive director Nathalie Walsh discuss the 2014 Autism Society of P.E.I. STATS charity golf tournament. It will take place at the Clyde River course on Saturday.
"A tremendous amount of work from our many volunteers and corporate sponsors has been happening over the last several months to prepare for the tournament," said Jeff Himelman, president of the Autism Society of P.E.I. "This annual tournament is a very popular event, and helps raise money for things like family support, hosting conferences and events, and educating and advocating on behalf of the hundreds of Islanders living with Autism."
Some of the highlights of the tournament include a dinner and silent auction featuring many sports memorabilia items, and many prizes from corporate sponsors as well as special challenge holes where teams can compete for extra prizes.
The tournament, being hosted at Clyde River Golf Course, will get underway with a shot-gun start at 9:30 a.m.
"There's a lot of excitement building for this year's tournament," said 2014 tournament chair Mauro (Stats) Corazza. "Our fingers are crossed for great weather to go along with a great time as we swing together to support Islanders living with Autism."
