CHARLOTTETOWN – In an effort to help the Island’s top players develop their game for competition, the Prince Edward Island Golf Association (PEIGA) will be awarding a personalized training and instruction package to the best players from its 2014 men’s, senior men’s and senior women’s tours.
The top two players in the point standings from the Men’s Players Series, the King of Club’s Senior Men’s Tour and the Senior Ladies Tour will each be awarded a winter training program at the end of the season.
The training program will be available twice a week between January and April at the association’s National Junior Golf Development Center in Summerside.
Players will be able to use the indoor simulator and other tools for detailed swing analysis, such as the BodiTrack pressure mat to determine weight and body movement throughout the swing.
The players will have access to PEIGA provincial golf coach Dallas Desjardins as well as the center’s support team, including a mental coach, a strength trainer and a physiotherapist.
The 2014 schedule for the tours is on the association’s website.
