SUMMERSIDE -- The United States has struck first against Sweden in quarter-final action at the 2009 World Junior 'A' Hockey Challenge on Thursday afternoon.

Nick Jensen gave the United States a 1-0 lead at 4:06 of the second period. Colten St. Clair and Montreal Canadiens' draft pick Mac Bennett earned assists.

The United States is outshooting Sweden 19-10 with 13 minutes left in the middle frame.
