SUMMERSIDE – The P.E.I. Dominion Curling Club Championship draw is cancelled tonight (Thursday, March 27) due to road conditions across the Island. The opening draw has been rescheduled to 10 a.m. Friday, March 28.

The plan is to have Draws 2 and 3 stay as scheduled on Friday at 2 and 7 p.m. respectively.

The P.E.I. Dominion Curling Club Championship, featuring the men's and women's club champions from P.E.I. curling clubs, is being played this week, March 27 to 30, at the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club in Summerside. Six of P.E.I.'s seven curling clubs have entered teams in both the men's and women's divisions.

Last year's winners were the Sharon Horne team from the Western Community Curling Club in Alberton, and, for the second consecutive year, the Allan Inman team from the Crapaud Community Curling Club. Inman is back this year, looking to make it three in a row. Two members of the Horne rink, Wendy Fraser and Alison Griffin, are on this year's Western team.

The winning teams will advance to the national Dominion Curling Club Championship, Nov. 24-29, at the Mayflower Curling Club in Halifax.

All profits from the Dominion Curling Club Championship are re-directed to Spinal Cord Injury and developmental curling initiatives in communities across the country. For more information about the championship, visit thedominioncurls.ca.
