SUMMERSIDE – The Canadian women’s curling champions will be looking to continue a strong year in Summerside.

The Rachel Homan rink from Orleans, Ont., will be looking to win its first Grand Slam of Curling Players’ Championship at Eastlink Arena. The event runs from April 15 to 20.

Since Homan has already captured the Masters of Curling Grand Slam this year and if she wins the Players’ Championship, she will earn an additional $100,000 bonus in prize money.

The 24-year-old Homan went undefeated at 13-0 at this year’s Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Montreal. She also won the Canadian junior women’s title in 2010, and came second at the world juniors that same year. She also skipped Ontario to a gold medal at the 2007 Canada Winter Games in Whitehorse, Yukon.
