Schut was the winner of Sunday afternoon’s bronze-medal Page game between the third and fourth qualifiers from the triple-knockout round. Schut came from behind with a triple in the final end to edge Cornwall’s Hayden Ford team 6-5 and finish the event in third place.

Other members of the Schut rink are third stone Liam Kelly, second stone Chase MacMillan and lead Liam Barbrick, with coaches Butch McGee and Mike Schut. Rounding out the fourth-place Ford foursome were Emily McQuaid, Rachel MacLean, and Lilly Tweel, with alternate Halles Reardon, and coaches Brenda MacMillan and Berry Ford.

Ford qualified third out of the triple-knockout with a 7-3 win over Montague’s Damien Collings on Sunday morning. Schut grabbed the final qualifying spot for the Page round with an 11-2 win over Katie Shaw of Charlottetown.

Eight teams took part in the event, and teams could be made up of any combination of male and female players.
