P.E.I.'s MacKenzie drops afternoon game at Brier

There were six Islanders on the ice in a Tuesday afternoon game at the Tim Hortons Brier in Kamloops, B.C.

The result was Newfoundland and Labrador’s Brad Gushue, who has Islanders Brett Gallant and Adam Casey on his team, beating P.E.I.’s Eddie MacKenzie 8-5.

Gushue improved to 3-4 while MacKenzie was 3-3 going into an evening game against Ontario.

Other members of the P.E.I. rink are  Anson Carmody, Tyler MacKenzie, Sean Ledgerwood, Phil Gorveatt (alternate) and Les Rogers (coach).

They play New Brunswick and Saskatchewan on Wednesday.

Peter Gallant, from P.E.I., is the coach of the Gushue squad.

B.C.’s John Morris (6-1) was alone atop the standings going into the evening draw.
