MacLean, Noye rinks undefeated in under-18 curling ch’ships

CHARLOTTETOWN – Only two rinks remain unbeaten after two days of play at the O’Connor Glass provincial under-18 curling championships at the Charlottetown Curling Complex.

The defending-champion Jenny McLean women’s rink from the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club in Summerside, and the Leslie Noye men’s foursome from the Western Community Curling Club in Alberton sport 3-0 (won-lost) records.

The Lauren Moerike rink from the host club is 2-1 on the women’s side, and the four other teams in the division have 1-2 records.

Three men’s rinks, skipped by Alex MacFadyen of the Silver Fox, Spencer Stetson of Cornwall and Tyler Smith of the Montague Curling Club, are at 2-1. Devin Schut of Cornwall and Justin Campbell of the Silver Fox are 0-3.

The winning men’s and women’s rinks will advance to the Atlantic under-18 curling championships, at the Gage Curling Club in Oromocto N.B., from April 4 to 6.
