CHARLOTTETOWN – The P.E.I. provincial masters curling championships will be held at the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club from Jan. 27 to 30.
The men and women’s championships are open to curlers aged 60 and over, and the entry deadline is Jan. 2.
The Mel Bernard rink of the host Silver Fox will be seeking its fourth consecutive provincial masters title. The Diane MacKay team from the Charlottetown Curling Complex and Cornwall Curling Club is the defending women’s champion.
The winners and runners-up in both the men’s and the women’s divisions earn the right to compete in the Maritime masters championships at the Cornwall Curling Club from March 14 to 17. The winning teams, or the highest-finishing men’s and women’s rinks that choose to attend, are also invited to participate in the 2014 ATB Financial Canadian masters championships in Coaldale, Alta., from March 31 to April 6.
