SUMMERSIDE – The semifinal matchups are set for two Baseball P.E.I. provincial championship tournaments on Sunday.

In midget play, the Kensington Crusaders will take on the Cornwall Cougars at Kowalski Field in Freetown, and the Northside Lions from Morell and Charlottetown Royals will do battle at Queen Elizabeth Park’s Legends Field in Summerside. Both games start at 10 a.m., with the final scheduled for Legends Field at 1 p.m.

In the peewee championship at Queen Elizabeth Park, the Summerside Chevys and Charlottetown Royals will meet in one semifinal while the West Prince Mariners and Cornwall Cougars will meet in the other.

Both of those games are set for 10 a.m., with the final following at 12:30 p.m.

The winning team will move on to the Atlantic championship in Charlottetown next month. Should the Royals, who are already guaranteed a berth in the Atlantics as the host team, win the provincial title, the runner-up team will represent P.E.I.
