Noonan drives in four runs to lead Chevys

TIGNISH – Dylan Noonan drove in four runs to spark the Summerside Chevys’ offensive attack against the West Prince Mariners on Wednesday night.

Noonan went 3-for-3, including a double and triple, to pace the Chevys to a 12-5 road at the Tignish Legion Field.

Nicholas Gunning (2-2, walk, two runs scored), Ryley Campbell (2-3, double, three RBI) and Brandon Gaudet (2-3, double, RBI) also had big nights offensively. Ben MacDougall contributed  a three-run home run in the fifth inning.

Ethan Oliver (2-3, two doubles) and Carter Cahill (2-4) were West Prince’s top hitters.

Marcus Gauthier was the winning pitcher, and Oliver took the loss.

Summerside will participate in Sherwood’s tournament this weekend, and will wrap up regular-season play against the Stratford Athletics in Summerside on Monday and visit Charlottetown on Tuesday.
