Gaudet, Thomas hit home runs for Chevys

SUMMERSIDE – Brandon Gaudet and Dylan Thomas blasted home runs as the Summerside Chevys remained undefeated in the P.E.I. Peewee AAA Baseball League here on Monday night.

The Chevys defeated the Richmond Red Sox 16-9 at Queen Elizabeth Park’s Gordie Arsenault Field.

Gaudet and Ben MacDougall each had perfect 3-for-3 batting summaries to lead the Chevys, who scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning and never trailed in the contest. Gaudet connected for a grand slam and drove in five runs overall while MacDougall and Thomas (2-3) each had three runs batted in.

Ethan Beaulieu (3-4, double) and winning pitcher Nicholas Gunning (2-3, walk, RBI) also had multi-hit games for the Chevys (9-0).

Bryce Wood was the pitcher of record for the Red Sox, who were led offensively by Nathan Grigg (1-2, walk, double) and Parker Gallant (1-3, double).

The Chevys visit Sherwood on Tuesday.
