Baseball P.E.I. names coaches of provincial teams

CHARLOTTETOWN – Baseball P.E.I. recently announced the coaching staffs for its 2014 provincial teams.

Matt O’Shea, who has 30 years coaching experience, is the head coach of P.E.I’s team for the 18-under midget national championship. Mike Cameron of Summerside will assist O’Shea. Cameron, who has coached at several national championships, has 20 years coaching experience.


David McQuaid, who has won several provincial and Atlantic championships with Cornwall midget and bantam teams, is the head coach of P.E.I.’s team for the 21-under junior national championships. McQuaid has 42 years of coaching experience on his resumé.

Assistant coach Gerard McInnis has coached for 15 years.


Dave MacIsaac, who has 34 years of coaching experience to his credit, was appointed as head coach of the 17-under team that will represent P.E.I. at the Canada Cup.

MacIsaac will be assisted by Jared Doyle, who has 21 years of playing experience; James Phillips, who has 15 years of coaching experience, and Stephen LeClair, who has 25-plus years coaching experience that includes several provincial and Atlantic titles.
