SUMMERSIDE – Plans are underway for what the Summerside Dolphin Swim Club hopes will be its best year ever.

With only a couple of weeks before the Dolphins make their splash at the Credit Union Place pool, the board of directors is busy fielding calls and arranging assessments for new swimmers.

“We have a very young developing squad, with lots of fun and excitement planned for these swimmers,” said head coach Dave Cameron, who is looking forward to a great season. “For our older swimmers, we have a number of really important meets this year – New Brunswick championships, Pointe Claire invitational, Fall Splash and a trip to California.

“It looks like we will have some 20 new members, which is fantastic. Our goals are simple – swim technically correct and swim faster than you ever have in your life!”

New swimmer evaluations are being held at Credit Union Place on Sept. 9 at 4:30 p.m.

Interested swimmers are asked to contact Bill Martin at to add their name to the list.

Registration for all swimmers will be in the Credit Union Place lobby on Sept. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m., and Sept. 13 from 9 to 11 a.m.
