Organizers of next week’s Canadian senior and master men’s fast pitch championships in Charlottetown are calling for volunteers to sign up.

The championships will be held from Tuesday to Sunday, Aug. 31, at Central Fields.

“Our organizing committee has been working for the past year planning, what will be, a first-class event,” said chairwoman Carol Mayne. “We know that the key to a successful event are the volunteers. We are very grateful for those who have signed up to volunteer thus far; however, we still need a few more volunteers to make this event successful.”

It is estimated 100 volunteers will be needed during the event to help with everything from ticket taking to hospitality to score keeping and various other positions.
