P.E.I. defeats Manitoba at Canadian rugby championships

CALGARY – William Tjeuw, a pick-up from Ontario, scored two trys to lead Team P.E.I. to a win at the Canadian rugby championships on Saturday.

The P.E.I. under-18 boys also received trys from Brandon Adams of Summerside and Isaac Combrinck of Hunter River and two converts from Alberta pick-up Alex Halversen, en route to a 24-12 win over Manitoba  in a relegation game.

P.E.I., which is now 2-3 (won-lost), also defeated Manitoba 19-15 in round-robin play.

P.E.I. plays Saskatchewan at noon, Atlantic time, for the Tier 3 championship.
