SHUBENACADIE, N.S. – Kirk Johnston of Summerside drove in his first super bike races here at Atlantic Motorsport Park recently.

Team Redline Motorsports riders from Summerside are, from left: Kirk Johnston, Rob MacIsaac and Mark Morrison.

Johnston was one of three Team Redline Motorsports riders in the weekend event.

Johnston had ninth-place finishes in the AM super bike and AM sport bike races, and took his Centennial AST, GSXR 600 to an 11th-place finish in the following day’s super bike race.

Redline rider Rob MacIsaac, racing in AM superbike and the Formula 46 Division, finished with a second- and third-place podium position in the AM category, and took a fifth place in the Formula 46 class.

MacIsaac still holds the points’ lead in the overall 2014 AM superbike championship Atlantic series, and a solid third place in the Formula 46 class.

Morrison places well

The third Redline rider, Mark Morrison, placed well on his NEW ZX6R Kawasaki. After struggling with his starts all weekend long, Morrison ended having to claw his way through the field after every start.

Morrison came from near the last position and finished with three top-five positions in three races in both AM sport bike and AM super bike while posting new personal bests at 1:17.8 a lap.

The Canadian superbike championship series comes to Atlantic Motorsport Park this weekend. This event will feature the best riders in Canada. Tickets are available at most local motorcycle dealers.
