The tournament was originally established for Under 13 to Under 14 male and female soccer players from the western based provinces, but has grown to include U15 and U16 age groups and Team Atlantic.

Team Atlantic will be sending teams to compete in the Under 15 and Under 16 age groups.

Team Atlantic is formed from player selections based on the U15 and U16 Atlantic All-Star Championships that took place from June 21 to 24. The team will be travelling to B.C. for a three-day pre-tournament camp before the competition starts on July 22.

The competition will conclude on Sunday, July 27 with an all-star game between players that have excelled at the competition. The competition offers an opportunity for Island players as games will be scouted by universities, colleges and the Canadian Soccer Association.

Joining Arsenault on the U15 Girls team will be fellow Islanders Lauren Clark (Winsloe-Charlottetown Royals FC), Rachel Green (RC United), Jessie Leslie (Hillsborough United) and Alana Worth (RC United), all of whom had great performances at the Atlantic tournament to land their places on the team.

Arsenault and Leslie anchored the Island team’s central defense at the Atlantics while Green and Worth defended the wings. Lauren Clark will be called on to play a midfield role.

Islanders to make the Under 16 Girls team include: Brittany Timothy (RC United), Cristina Lourenso (Hillsborough United) and Carly Connell.

On the boy’s side, Blake deJong, James Foster and Ethan Malcom from the Hillsborough United SC join Mon San Aung and Melvin Sim-Turay from the Winsloe Charlottetown Royals FC on the Under 16 Boys team.

The Eastern Eagles Soccer Club has a trio of players on the Under 15 Boys team in Donovan Bears and the Lund brothers – Brandon and Zachary. They will be joined by Malek Wolters and Jason Poley from the Hillsborough club and Donovan Wyand from RC United.

The Island is also represented on the coaching staff.

Jonathan Vos, PEISA technical director, is coaching Team Atlantic U16 Boys.
