In win over Heat

SUMMERSIDE – Prisicilla Curran and Heather Drake hit home runs to help the Subway Sluggers to a 15-5 win over the Summerside Heat in a women’s softball game here recently.

The Sluggers jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the top of the first inning on the strength of five consecutive singles. Drake’s round-tripper in the fourth inning and Curran’s fifth-inning grand slam added to the lead.

Summerside scored two runs in the fourth inning, and three more in the fifth.

Tracy Arsenault led the Sluggers with a 4-for-4 batting summary, and Carol Lilly went 2-for-2.

Jessica Stewart (3-3, double, home run) and Bailey MacIsaac (1-2) sparked the Heat’s offence.

Winning pitcher was Audrey Buchanan. Jasmin Geary took the loss.
