GEARY, N.B. – Jonathan Hicken of Brudenell was the top P.E.I. driver in the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour race here at Speedway 660 on Saturday night.

Hicken finished fifth in the field of 17, which featured five P.E.I. cars. Kent Vincent of Crapaud came eighth, Greg Proude of Springvale was 12th, Darren MacKinnon of Milton Station placed 13th and Terry Dougay of Albany rounded out the P.E.I. drivers with a 14th-place finish.

Turple wins race

Shawn Turple of Enfield, N.S., won the race. The two-time series champion inherited the lead on Lap 72 after leader Shawn Tucker of Fredericton, N.B., was relegated to the back of the field after jumping his third restart of the caution-filled race.

Tucker managed to make his way back to finish third behind John Flemming of Halifax, N.S. Flemming also came from the back of the field after a flat tire forced him to pit in the first half of the race.

After five events, Flemming holds a five-point lead over Tucker. Turple, Blenkhorn and Proude complete the top five.

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour is back in action on Saturday, July 19, at Riverside International Speedway for the first extended feature of the 2014 season – The IWK 250 presented by Steve Lewis Auto Body.
