Mitch Hardy played a big role in helping the O’Leary-based Summerside Chrysler Dodge Eagles defeat the Charlottetown John Brown Fawcetts 6-1 in a senior men’s fastpitch exhibition game in O’Leary on Wednesday night.
The two teams met in a senior men’s fastpitch exhibition game at Ellis Field on Wednesday night.
In reality, it was a 4-1 win for the Eagles as the teams agreed to play out the bottom half of the seventh even though the host team didn’t need the extra runs. Mike MacIsaac finished the game off with a two-run homer.
Ryan Perry (1-3, two stolen bases, run scored), John Ellsworth (1-2, triple, RBI) and Joel Rodgerson (2-4, stolen base, two runs scored) were tops at the plate for the Eagles.
The game sheet was unavailable for pitching stats and the top batters for the Fawcetts.
Seth Hood scored Charlottetown’s only run on an error.
Hardy pitched the complete game while Chris Craig relieved Steve Langley after four innings for the Fawcetts.
The teams will face each other next the weekend of July 12 in a Maritime men’s fastpitch tournament hosted by the Fawcetts.
