HALIFAX – Greg Proude of Springvale finished a close second in the Lucas Oil 100 here at Petty International Raceway on Saturday night.

Dylan Blenkhorn, who started on the pole after winning the King Freight Dash for Cash, fought lapped traffic and Proude to take the lead on Lap 79, and held it to the finish.

It was the second win in as many weeks for Blenkhorn on the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour.

Shawn Turple of Enfield, N.S., edged out Darren Mackinnon of Milton Station for third spot after battling tooth and nail throughout the late stages of the race. Shawn Tucker of Fredericton, N.B., completed the top five.

Kent Vincent of Crapaud was ninth, Terry Dougay of Albany came 12th and Jonathan Hicken of Brudenell had a 15-place finish to round out the P.E.I. drivers in the 18-car field.

Proude led 57 laps in the middle stages of the Lucas Oil 100 to pocket the Linde Most Laps Led Award. Three yellow flags slowed the event and the final 69 laps were run caution free.

With the win, Blenkhorn moves up to fifth in the championship point standings. Flemming continues to the lead the championship chase. Tucker and Proude are now tied for second, with Turple following in fourth position.
