CHARLOTTETOWN – The Island Storm has released the schedules for this summer’s free basketball camps on Prince Edward Island.

The camps are open to boys and girls going into Grades 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10.

Through the Storm Kids Foundation’s first annual Storm team scramble golf tournament at Fox Meadow Golf Course in Stratford on July 25, the National Basketball League of Canada team will be able to offer the summer camps at no charge.

All proceeds from this golf tournament will go toward the basketball camps, which will be led by Storm head coach and two-time NBL of Canada all-star coach Joe Salerno. A number of Storm players are also expected to offer instruction.

Camps run from 9 to 11:30 a.m. for boys and girls going into Grades 5, 6 and 7, and from 12:30 to 3 p.m. for boys and girls going into Grades 8, 9 and 10. Each participant will also receive a Storm camp t-shirt.

Entries will be on a first-come, first-serve basis, with a deadline of one week before each camp. Camp brochures will be available online starting on Saturday morning at www.stormbasketball.ca, or by emailing Paul Schurman at paulm@stormbasketball.ca.
