SUMMERSIDE – Grade 10 students Tara Campbell and Matthew Tanton were selected as Three Oaks Senior High School’s (TOSH) rookies of the year on Saturday night.

Matthew Tanton and Tara Campbell were selected as the Three Oaks Senior High School’s rookies of the year at the annual athletic awards dinner on Saturday night.
The announcements were made during the school’s annual athletic awards dinner.
Campbell, the 15-year-old daughter of Garth and Lisa Campbell of Summerside, competed in senior AAA basketball, badminton, track and field, senior A rugby and was rookie of the year in senior AAA soccer.
“She (Campbell) is a natural leader on and off the field,” said Three Oaks athletic director Joel Arsenault. “She motivates and encourages her teammates to always give it their best. Her enthusiasm is contagious.”
Tanton, 16, represented Three Oaks in senior A rugby, senior AAA basketball and track and field. The son of Keith and Cheryl Tanton received the coaches choice award in rugby.
“This gentleman approached basketball season with the attitude that he was not just a rookie who was going to be happy to be on the AAA men’s basketball team,” said Arsenault. “He wanted to be a player who was going to contribute to the team success from the start. His displayed a toughness and tenacity that will bring future success for this team and any other team that he plays on going forward.”
