CHARLOTTETOWN – All Turain remains perfect in 2014 after winning the top class in 1:56.1 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park on Saturday.
Brodie MacPhee was in the bike for the victory for owners Lee Hicken of Stratford and trainer Trevor Hicken of Montague.
MacPhee rallied the pacer off the starting gate from Post 8 to take the lead and cut fractions of 28.3, 58.1 and 1:27, before cutting a final quarter of 29.1 to win by three lengths over Sterling Seelster. Temp Seelster was third.
Camcun took the back-up class in 1:58 flat to record his third victory in a row. Kenny Arsenault mapped out the winning trip for his co-owner Dan Belliveau of Halifax, N.S.
Presto Pegasus won the opening trot class for Brian Andrew in 2:02.1. The nine-year-old gelding is co-owned by Bill Andrew of Calgary, Alta., and Rachel Andrew of Milton Station.
The open trot went to Pleasure Girls in 2:00.3 for owner Shelly Gass and driver Walter Cheverie.
Jason Hughes enjoyed a hat trick with scores behind Say It Again Sam, Isleofpalms and Cambest Kisser. Marc Campbell posted a driving double.
The total live wager was $25,663.
