SUMMERSIDE – Caliban Hanover knocked off the top trotters in Atlantic Canada at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway on Sunday afternoon.

Onehotvett, 3, and driver, owner and trainer Wade Sorrie of Montague win the featured $1,800 pace in Race 11 at Red Shores at Summerside Raceway on Sunday afternoon. The Alex Sobey-driven Lucky Encounter was second.

In line to Corey MacPherson, Caliban Hanover sat in the pocket as Abundaspin (Harold Shepherd) carved out fractions of 30.2, 101.1 and 1:31.3. MacPherson then powered forward to win a nose decision in 2:01.4 over a fast-rated racing surface.

Abundaspin was second, with Lyrical Lindy (Gilles Barrieau) third.

Caliban Hanover is owned by Wendell MacDonald of Cornwall and trained by Ron Gass.

Feature pace

Onehotvett captured the feature pace in 1:59.3 for owner-trainer-driver Wade Sorrie of Montague.

Leaving from Post 3 in the Race 11 $1,800 pace, Onehotvett had a two-hole ride through the first two fractions of 29.3 and 59.4, with Bet The House (Walter Cheverie) laying out the fractions.

Sorrie vacated the rail at the 1:29.2 three-quarters when Lucky Encounter (Alex Sobey) took over the lead. Onehotvett got up for a length decision over Lucky Encounter while Toad River (Ken Murphy) was third.

MacPherson had a driving triple on the card, winning with Classic Lorenzo in 2:00.4 for owner Devon Wallace of Alberton and Dusty Lane Dora in 2:01.3 for owner Ron Gass of Cornwall.

Driver Terry Gallant and trainer Thane Mann both scored driving doubles.
