Summerside claims Tier 2 event

PROFIT’S CORNER – The Summerside Suns were able to repeat what their Tier 1 counterparts did – that is win the recent Volleyball P.E.I. 14-Under Girls League Tier 2 tournament.

The Suns went undefeated in the round robin and earned a bye to the finals, where they met up with the Stonepark Tigers, who defeated West Prince 30-15 in the semifinals.  The Suns won a close final match 24-20.

The West Prince Islanders defeated the Cornwall Red Mudd in the bronze-medal match 24-16. The young Colonels finished in fifth.  

The Tier 2 group will see their last action of the spring at the provincial championship tournament at Colonel Gray High School in Charlottetown. The action will start at 5 p.m.
