CHARLOTTETOWN – The Charlottetown Islanders moved past the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League standings on Tuesday night.

The Islanders defeated the Titan 3-1 to improve to 20-36-2-5 (won-lost-overtime losses-shootout losses), good enough for 47 points. The Titan fell to 20-38-4-2 and has 46 points.

Before 2,126 fans at Eastlink Centre, Daniel Sprong, Spenser Cobbold and Kameron Kielly, with an empty-net goal in the game’s final minute, scored for the Islanders.

Christophe Boivin netted the lone goal for Acadie-Bathurst, which led 1-0 after the first period and trailed 2-1 following 40 minutes.

Winning goaltender was Mason McDonald, and Jacob Brennan took the loss.

The Islanders visit Halifax on Thursday.
