Senior AA basketball medals on line Monday

CHARLOTTETOWN – The P.E.I. School Athletic Association senior AA basketball medals will be handed out on Monday.


A total of four games will be played at Holland College in Charlottetown, starting with the girls’ bronze-medal game between the Souris Spartans and Montague Vikings at 2 p.m.

The third-place game on the boys’ side follows at 4 p.m., with the Three Oaks Axemen meeting the Souris Spartans.

The girls’ championship game will feature the Westisle Wolverines meeting the Colonel Gray Colonels at 6 p.m. In Friday’s semifinals, Westisle defeated Souris 79-40 and Colonel Gray got by Montague 49-47 in overtime.

The final game of the day will decide the boys’ champion. That game will have the Kensington Torchmen taking on the Charlottetown Rural Raiders at 8 p.m. Kensington punched its ticket to the final by defeating Three Oaks 91-61 in one semifinal, and Rural topped Souris 75-68 in the other.
