KISH, Englewood, Miscouche, SIS to represent West in midget A championships

SOURIS – Souris Regional High School will be the site of the P.E.I. School Athletic Association midget A provincial basketball championships this weekend.

The West zone will be represented by the Kensington and Englewood boys, along with the Miscouche and Summerside Intermediate School girls.

Play will begin with the four semifinal games on Friday, and the medal games go Saturday.

The first semifinal will feature the Miscouche Mustangs taking on the host Souris girls at 2 p.m. That game will be followed by the Englewood boys taking on Morell at 3:45 p.m.

The second girls’ semifinal will feature Summerside Intermediate meeting Stonepark at 5:30 p.m.

The final game of the day will have the Kensington Torchmen taking on host Souris at 7:15 p.m.

The medal games begin with the girls’ bronze on Saturday at 10 a.m. The boys’ third-place game is scheduled for 11:45 a.m., with the girls’ gold-medal match at 1:30 p.m., and the boys’ championship contest set for 3:30 p.m.
