Of senior AA boys’ basketball tournament at Three Oaks
SUMMERSIDE – The host Three Oaks Axemen have advanced to the championship game of the Summerside high school’s senior AA boys’ basketball tournament.

The Axemen won both their round-robin games on Friday to clinch first place in Pool A. The Charlottetown Rural Raiders will oppose Axemen in the tournament final on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
The Axemen opened the two-day tournament with an 81-41 afternoon win over the Bluefield Bobcats, and then edged the Souris Spartans 49-46 in an early-evening contest. Souris defeated Bluefield 80-50 in the other Pool A match.
The Raiders, Montague Vikings and Morell Marlins played the Pool B round robin at Rural. The Raiders defeated the Vikings 74-39 and the Marlins 92-43 while Montague got by Morell 60-57.
Axemen 81 Bobcats 41
At Three Oaks, Jacob Majcan poured in 16 points to lead the Axemen, who received 13 points from Logan Comeau and 11 from Colton Wadman.
Isaac Dawson (12), Jonah Beraman (11) and Zach Denny (5) were Bluefield’s top scorers.
Three Oaks led 39-22 at halftime.
Players of the game were Zack Mallett (Axemen) and Denny.
Axemen 49 Spartans 46
At Three Oaks, Comeau (11), Wadman (10) and Mitchell Henderson (9) sparked the Axemen’s attack.
Josh Stewart scored a game-high 19 points for the Spartans while Liam Carpenter added 12 and Isaac Cahill had nine.
The Axemen were in front 29-24 at the intermission.
Players of the game were Ben Smith (Axemen) and Carpenter.
Spartans 80 Bobcats 50
At Three Oaks, Cahill (18), Stewart (15) and Jake LeBrech (11) ignited the Spartans’ offence.
For Bluefield, Dawson led all scorers with a 26-point effort. Sam MacPhail (13) and Denny (11) also scored in double digits.
Souris held a 44-23 advantage at the half.
Players of the game were Cahill and Dawson.
Raiders 74 Vikings 39
At Charlottetown Rural, Keegan Lazaric (19), Tanner Ogg (14) and Kyle Arsenault (13) sparked the Raiders offensively.
Ian Campbell (10), Tristan Dawson (9) and Cameron Glover (5) were Montague’s leading scorers.
Players of the game were Arsenault and Patrick Murphy (Montague).
Vikings 60 Marlins 57
At Charlottetown Rural, Dawson had a game-high 26 points while Glover (10) and Brandon Henderson (5) were the other leading scorers for the Vikings.
Shane Pendergast (24), Ethan Craig (18) and Matt Hicken (8) keyed Morell’s attack.
Players of the game were Dawson and Hicken.
Raiders 92 Marlins 43
At Charlottetown Rural, Tanner Ogg poured in a tournament-high 35 points to key the Raiders’ offence. Lazaric (16) and Nick Frizzell (15) also made key offensive contributions.
For Morell, Craig (22), Pendergast (13) and Riley Berthiune (4) led the way.
Players of the game were Ogg and Pendergast.
Saturday’s schedule for TOSH basketball tournament:
9 a.m. – Fifth-place game: Bluefield vs. Morell.
10:45 a.m. – Third-place game: Montague vs. Souris.
12:30 p.m. – Championship game: Three Oaks vs. Charlottetown Rural.
