Vipers, Red Wings tangle in annual Boxing Day match-up

KENSINGTON ­– The Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers with host the Arsenault Fish Mart Western Red Wings in their annual Boxing Day matchup.

Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers forward Spencer Montgomery looks to make a play during an Island Junior Hockey League pre-season game against the Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings on Sunday night.

The Thursday afternoon Island Junior Hockey League game gets underway at 2 p.m.

This marks the fourth straight year these two archrivals have played on Boxing Day. These two teams have a heated history and one of the best rivalries in Island hockey.

The Red Wings have played better hockey of late and are starting to climb the standings.

This game is very important to both teams as the standings are tightening up and every point is critical.

The Vipers have had there last two home games cancelled due to weather and are expecting the biggest crowd of the season.

Grant Grady gets the start in net and Aaron Nunn will draw in with Morgan Walker suspended.
