Will face Montague on Saturday night
KENSINGTON – The Kensington Intermediate-Senior High (KISH) Torchettes have earned a berth in the championship game of the Merry KISH-Montague Regional High School (MRHS) Classic.
The Torchettes will take on Montague in the winner-take-all final of the senior girls’ basketball tournament on Saturday at Holland College in Charlottetown at 8 p.m.
The Torchettes opened tournament play with a 54-30 victory over Three Oaks Team Two on Wednesday night, and completed the round robin at 2-0 (won-lost) with a 78-64 victory over the Westisle Wolverines on Friday afternoon.
In Friday’s other West Division game at KISH, Westisle defeated Three Oaks Team Two 52-28.
The tournament featured six teams in two three-team divisions. The results of the East Division games in Montague are unavailable.
In other games at Holland College on Saturday, Three Oaks and Souris will meet for fifth place at 4:15 p.m., and Westisle and Colonel Gray Team Two will clash in the third-place game at 6:15 p.m.

Hannah Harrington poured in a game-high 15 points to lead the Torchettes, who led 43-35 at the half. Cassidy Champion sank 11 and Brooke Johnston contributed 10.
For Westisle, Vanessa Rennie (14), Maggee Fraser (10) and Haley Shea (9) were the top scorers.
Players of the game were Harrington and Breanne Lewis (Westisle).
Westisle 52 Three Oaks 28
Fraser keyed the Wolverines’ attack with 14 points while Shea had eight. Mariah Marchbank and Maddy Shea each finished with six points.
Bethany DesRoches (9), Sam Harris (4), Taran Price (3) and Morgan MacKinnon (3) were the leading offensive producers for Three Oaks.
Players of the game were Fraser and DesRoches.
