KISH, MRHS team up to host senior girls’ tournament

KENSINGTON – Kensington Intermediate-Senior High (KISH) and Montague Regional High School (MRHS) are teaming up to host a senior girls’ basketball tournament.

The 2013 Merry KISH-MRHS Classic will feature six teams competing in a two-division format. KISH, Three Oaks and Westisle are the teams in the West Division while MRHS, Colonel Gray and Souris make up the East Division.

Two games are scheduled for Wednesday, four will be played on Friday and three more on Saturday. KISH and MRHS will each host two games Friday while all of Saturday’s championship and placing games will take place at Holland College in Charlottetown.

Teams will play a round robin within their division, with the two first-place teams meeting in Saturday’s final at 8 p.m.

Tournament action will get underway on Wednesday as Colonel Gray and Souris meet in a P.E.I. School Athletic Association league game at Colonel Gray at 5:30 p.m. Also Wednesday, Three Oaks will host KISH in the tournament-opening game for both teams.

At KISH on Friday, the host Torchettes will take on Westisle at 3 p.m., and TOSH will meet Westisle at 5:30 p.m.

5:30 p.m. –Souris vs. Colonel Gray.

At Three Oaks:

6 p.m. – KISH vs. Three Oaks.

Friday, Dec. 13

At KISH:

3 p.m. – KISH vs. Westisle.

5:30 p.m. – Three Oaks vs. Westisle.

At MRHS:

1 p.m. – MRHS vs. Colonel Gray.

3:30 p.m. – MRHS vs. Souris.

Saturday, Dec. 14

At Holland College:

4:30 p.m. – Third-place team in East Division vs. third-place team in West Division.

6:15 p.m. – Second-place team in East Division vs. second-place team in West Division.

8 p.m. – First-place team in East Division vs. first-place team in West Division.
