Ton of Luck wins Power Memorial
CHARLOTTETOWN – Pinner, with Marc Campbell in the bike, claimed Saturday afternoon’s top class in a sparking 1:57.4 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
It was Pinner’s third win in a row for trainer Brian Ladner and co-owners Kevin and Lillian Ladner of Charlottetown.
Campbell, who enjoyed a driving triple on the day, fired Pinner off the gate from Post 3 to post fractions of 28.4, 58.3 and 1:27.4 for his eighth victory of 2013.
Doll R General (Mark McKinnon) was second, with Ultimate Luck (Kenny Arsenault) finishing third.
Drew Power Memorial
In other action, Majian Chester won the trot class for Jim Ripley in 2:04.1, and the Brian MacPhee-driven Ton of Luck won the Drew Power Memorial in 2:00.4.
MacPhee, who recorded a driving double on the program, engineered the winning trip for the Ultimate Stable of Greater Lakeburn, N.B.
The total live wager for the 12-dash program was $21,455.
