Storm back in action Sunday

CHARLOTTETOWN – The Island Storm returns to action in the National Basketball League of Canada on Sunday.

The Storm will travel to the Metro Centre to take on the Halifax Rainmen in a 2 p.m. start.

The Storm, who will be looking for their third win in a row after a 106-103 home-court win over the Saint John Mill Rats on Friday night, has a chance to grab a share of the lead in the Atlantic Division.

The Mill Rats, who are 7-5 (won-lost), currently lead the way, with the Storm right behind at 6-5.

Sunday’s game will mark the first regular-season meeting between the Storm and Rainmen (0-8).

The Storm’s Antonio Ballard is as hot as any player in the NBL of Canada right now. Ballard has scored 82 points in his last three games to go along with 30 rebounds.

The Storm also travelled to Kings County on Saturday afternoon take part in the Souris Santa Claus Parade. This is the third year the Storm has been part of the Souris parade.

The Storm’s next home game at Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown is against the Moncton Miracles on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
