Williams scored over 11 points a game for the league champions last season while grabbing close to five rebounds a game and shot 48 per cent from the field. Williams scored 23 points in a single game twice last season.

"Jeremy brings a lot of athleticism and versatility to our front court," said Storm head coach Joe Salerno. "He (Williams) is a guy who can bang with the best of them down on the block, but can also step out and knock down the open 20-footer.

“He knows what it takes to win a championship in this league, and we are thrilled to have him."

Williams played his college ball at the University of Texas at El Paso of the Division 1 Conference USA league. During his career for the Miners, Williams averaged over 10 points and over five rebounds per game while shooting 48 per cent from the field.

Williams is expected to be in the Storm lineup on Sunday in Halifax.

The Storm’s next game is at Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown on Friday at 7 p.m., when the Saint John Mill Rats visit.

This game has a Community of Montague theme with area schools having tickets to come to the game, members of the Montague Fire Department, town council and the first 1,400 customers who make a purchase at the Down East Mall over the next two days will get a ticket to Friday’s game.
