The event will be held at the Cavendish Farms Wellness Centre in Montague from March 27 to 30.

Provincial champions from Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, a provincial representative from P.E.I., and the host Kings will compete.

"On behalf of the host committee and Kings County Kings hockey, we are very excited to be given the opportunity to host the 2014 Bantam AAA Female Atlantics,” said Seanah Christensen, representing the host Kings and bid committee. “We look forward to hosting a wonderful event, and bringing the best bantam female teams in Atlantic Canada to Montague.

“We plan on making this an unforgettable experience for all teams.”

P.E.I. league

The P.E.I. Bantam AAA Female Hockey League consists of four teams, including the Western Wind, Mid-Isle Wildcats and Central Storm.

Those teams will decide a provincial champion, who will represent P.E.I. in the Atlantic championship. Should the Kings win, the runner-up team will be the P.E.I. representative.

Three bids were submitted to Hockey P.E.I. to host the championship. A committee comprised of members of Hockey P.E.I. Minor Council and board of directors reviewed the bid applications and selected the host.
