TIGNISH – Children and parents considering the West Prince minor basketball program are invited to attend open clinics at the Alberton, Tignish and O’Leary school gymnasiums on Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 6 to 7 p.m.
The clinics coincide with registration night, which will be held at the three gyms from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the same date.
The registration fee of $90 per child includes a jersey, basketball and insurance for every participant. Any money left over helps cover the cost of an end-of-year tournament and refreshments.
The program had over 70 participants last year, and West Prince Minor Basketball Association president Paul McRae is hoping to grow that number.
All children in Grades 3 to 6 from the Westisle family of schools, as well as the French school, are welcome to join.
Practices start the first week of November, and house league games will likely start the following week. The program will run until the second week of March.
Anyone who cannot attend on Oct. 22 will have until 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28, to register. They can do so by calling McRae at 882-2323, or emailing him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Information is also available on the West Prince Minor Basketball Association Facebook page.
