As part of live harness program in Charlottetown
CHARLOTTETOWN – Greatheart Hanover will look to put away six rivals in the Thursday night feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
First-race post time for the 13-dash card is 7 p.m.
Greatheart Hanover has drawn Post 2 in Race 12 for a purse of $2,000. Jason Hughes will be at the lines of the Governor’s Plate finalist for trainer Stephen Quinn and owner Foxyhall Racing of Wallace, N.S.
Artners In Crime, fresh off a bang-up second in 1:56.3 in last Thursday’s feature, has rail control for driver Ron Matheson.
Other entries are Toad River (Ken Murphy), Sterling Seelster (Marc Campbell), Nobestbfor (Walter Cheverie), Pownal Bay Mustang (Kenny Arsenault), and Machinthesand (Brodie MacPhee).
Top trot class
The evening’s top trot class lines up in Race 5 for a purse of $1,100. Sandhill Angel is favoured from Post 6, with Arsenault in the bike for owner-trainer Glenn Claybourne of Charlottetown.
Other top entries include Scarlet Patti (Campbell) from Post 7, and Tymal Tyme (Brian MacPhee) from the outside Post 8.
The back-up condition pace goes behind the gate in Race 13. Cabo Pan Lucas is the morning-line favourite from Post 6 for driver Vincent Poulton and co-owner and trainer Gary Poulton and co-owner Alan Walker, both of Charlottetown.
He will have to turn back real challenges from Fred The Franchise (Cheverie), Rebelryan (Campbell) and Camcun (Arsenault).
The card also features a $1,000 back-up trot in Race 3; a horse and gelding $3,000 claimer in Race 9, and a $4,000 claiming pace in Race 11.
Live racing continues this weekend with the Breeder’s Crown in Charlottetown. The live programs on Saturday and Sunday will start at 1 p.m. each day.
