CARDIGAN -- West Prince Aces have advanced to the championship final of the Atlantic Bantam AA Baseball championship this afternoon in Cardigan.
The Aces, Team P.E.I., defeated New Brunswick 11-10 this morning to move their record to 3-1, earning them a berth in the championship final against the only team to beat them in the round robin, Nova Scotia.
The Tignish-based Aces played four high-scoring games, outscoring their opposition 41-35 in round-robin. They posted wins of 10-6 over Newfoundland and Labrador and 10-7 (nine innings) over host Cardigan, and lost 12-10 to Nova Scotia. They will get their chance to avenge that setback in today’s 2 p.m. final.
