Alex Hutchinson of the Richmond Red Sox begins his swing at a pitch during Sunday morning’s round-robin game against the Dartmouth Arrows at the Atlantic mosquito AAA baseball championship in Richmond.
The Dartmouth Arrows punched their ticket to the final with a 9-5 victory over the host Richmond Red Sox on Sunday morning.
Dartmouth completed the round robin at 3-1 (won-lost), and will take on the undefeated Fredericton Royals (4-0) in the championship game at 1:30 p.m.
Had the Red Sox (1-3) defeated Dartmouth, Baseball Canada rules stipulate that a championship game would not have been required and Fredericton would have been declared champions, based on their undefeated record and having two more wins than the second-place team.
The Charlottetown Royals (0-3) and St. John’s Capitals (1-2) are playing the final game of the roundup.
