At Atlantic peewee AA baseball championship
GRAND FALLS-WINDSOR, N.S. – The Richmond Red Sox split their two games here at the Atlantic peewee AA baseball championship on Saturday.
The Red Sox routed Kentville, N.S., 11-1 and were outscored 13-10 by Paradise, N.L. The Red Sox, who lost 10-5 to the host Grand Falls-Windsor team on Friday, completed round-robin play in the four-team tournament at 1-2.
The top two teams after the round robin advance to the championship game, and the third- and fourth-place teams play for the bronze medal.
However, the Red Sox have to wait to learn their fate as Saturday’s final round-robin play was suspended because of rain.
The only thing certain is that Kentville has secured a berth in the gold-medal game, and there is a possibility there could be a three-way tie at 1-2.
