O'LEARY --A decision is expected at 11 a.m. on whether the Eastern Canadian Men’s Intermediate C semi-finals can get underway at noon.
Charlottetown Cardinals were due to play the White Sox from Nova Scotia at 10 but that has been delayed at least until noon because of heavy rain overnight and this morning. If the game goes ahead, it will be moved to the Rink Field instead of Ellis Field. Charlottetown and the O’Leary Eagles both completed modified round-robin play with four wins and no losses. The host O’Leary Eagles, who won first place on a runs differential tie-breaker, would then play New Brunswick’s Taymouth Tigers in the other semi-final at 2 p.m., with the final to follow at 4 p.m. Again, the schedule all depends on the rain letting up and the Rink Field being deemed usable. The Tigers and the White Sox both finished with 2-2 records in the seven-team tournament, but the White Sox were awarded third on the runs differential tie-breaker.
