O’LEARY -- A Mike Bishop one-out single scored Chris Craig and Matt Dawson in the bottom of the seventh inning Saturday morning as the Charlottetown Cardinals rallied from a 3-2 deficit to beat the Kingsclear Warriors from New Brunswick 4-3 Saturday morning on Ellis Field in O’Leary. With the win, the Cardinals moved to 3-0 in the standings in the Eastern Canadian Men’s Intermediate C Fast Pitch championship. The host O’Leary Summerside Chrysler Dodge Eagles were at 2-0 and waiting for their opponents to finish a game before they headed out for a scheduled 12:30 p.m. contest. The start was going to be at least 45 minutes late. The Eagles are two-tie defending champions.
In other games Saturday morning Nova Scotia 1, Sydney Chants Funeral, Cardinals, moved to 1-1 with a 5-3 win over Ontario (0-2), and the Taymouth Tigers beat their New Brunswick counterparts 7-2 to move to 1-1. Kingsclear Warriors fell to 0-3 with their loss to the Charlottetown Cardinals.
