In Thursday night's harness racing program
CHARLOTTETOWN – A field of seven pacers will face off in the Race 11 $2,000 feature pace at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park on Thursday.
Post time for the 12-dash card is 7 p.m.
J V S Ring will look to deliver as the morning-line favourite from Post 6 with Brodie MacPhee in the bike for trainer Jackie Matheson and owners Joey Gallant of Charlottetown and Mike Pollard of Stratford.
The Cammibest six-year-old shows his last three miles in 1:55 and change, but will have to fend off Roscoes Child, and driver John Holmes, who drew the desirable rail position, and Leading Camdidate (Jason Hughes) from Post 7.
Other entries are Rymar Sporty (Ken Murphy), Van Zant (Ron Matheson), Cabo Pan Lucas (Vincent Poulton) and Oakrock Almighty (Brian MacPhee).
The evening trot class lines up in Race 3 for a purse of $1,400. Delta Dental has drawn the rail for trainer-driver Ron Gass and owner Shelley Gass of Cornwall.
The Dream Vacation 10-year-old missed the board her last start after a second-place finish in the $12,700 Erwin Andrew Memorial trot final on Gold Cup and Saucer night, but will look for redemption Thursday as her main competition drew the outer posts.
Saulsbrook Balance (Willie Murphy) has drawn Post 6 while Scarlet Patti (Darryl MacLean) has the outside Post 7. Also in the field are Sandhill Angel (Kenny Arsenault), Diamond Mine (Jack Panting), Libby Hall (Norris Rogers) and JK Queen (Walter Cheverie).
Remember Will favoured
The Race 12 back-up pace has a purse of $1,550 and favoured Remember Will has the rail for driver Brian MacPhee, trainer Ambyr Campbell and owner Ryan Williams of Tyne Valley.
The three-year-old colt has been undefeated in his three starts in the Campbell stable, and will look to fend off challenges from Le Fugueur (Hughes) and Camcun (Arsenault) to keep it that way.
