MILLVALE – Billy MacDonald of Charlottetown was the overall winner of the seventh annual Desmond Baglole Scenic Road Run here recently.

Race winner Billy MacDonald leads the field to the six-kilometre mark of the Desmond Baglole Scenic Road Run recently. MacDonald was the race’s overall winner.
Baglole completed the tough 15-kilometre run in a time of 58 minutes 48 seconds (58:48).
Shawn McCardle of Lady Fane was second in 1:02:15, and Randy MacNeill of New Hampshire was third overall in 1:02:51.
Natalie Dallaire of Stratford was the top-placing female in a time of 1:12:58. Darlene Chapman of Halifax, N.S., was the second-place female in 1:14:49, and Pat Ellis of Charlottetown was third in 1:16:43.
Run organizer Paul Baglole congratulated all the runners, and added it is an accomplishment to finish the tough and hilly course.
Overall, 59 runners took part in the fundraising event. Proceeds from the race go to college bursaries in memory of Desmond Baglole.
