Tignish can win junior C title in Crapaud on Saturday

TIGNISH – The Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces have taken control of the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League final.

The Aces defeated the Southside Lynx 4-1 on Friday night to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Tignish will go for the sweep at the South Shore Actiplex in Crapaud on Saturday. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 7:40 p.m.

 

Game 3

At the Tignish Credit Union Arena, the Aces received points from eight different players. Kirk Ramsey, Jacob LeClair, Brett Gaudet and Alex Brennan dented the twine while Joel MacIsaac, Ryley Doyle, Slade Handrahan and Spencer Gallant chipped in with assists.

Andy Murphy, who was set up by Rob Miller and Marshall Thomas, countered for the Lynx.

The Aces, who held period leads of 1-0 and 3-1, outshot the Lynx 36-32. Jake Hackett picked up the goaltending win over Dylan Garnhum.

Referee Steve Dyer called a total of nine minor penalties in the game – seven of those against the Aces.
